We have all been fighting the flu virus our house, thankfully nobody got hit very hard, I hope you are surviving this hellish flu season.  Remember to stay hydrated, eat your veggies, santize your hands and keep moving. I sound just like your mother!  Today’s post has lots of great things to share with you, including a fun giveaway! Details at the end of the article if you can stay around that long!

Georgie Fear Book Review

Firstly I am really happy to share that my friend and mentor, Georgie Fear, has released a new book, working with sane habits to help you with weight loss. The book focuses on her 4 core eating behaviours and the reason I am such a fan of this approach is because these are proven strategies. I do not support restrictions, limitations or rigidity when it comes to improving your nutritional health, instead understanding how and why the body needs be nourished.

It was exciting to get a pre-release copy to review from Georgie and there were some great practical gems underneath the covers.

Practice Not Perfection

You don’t have to nail change 100% of the time to see improvement, instead give yourself time and kindness to practice new skills until it eventually gets easier. If you already knew how to do something, it wouldn’t require practice right?

Lean Habits boils down complicated science into key dietary factors to help you enjoy every meal time to its fullest and feel nourished and satisfied.  Georgie teaches you one habit at a time, starting with her 4 core habits to help you understand how much food to eat, when to eat and when to stop eating.

If you are interested you can grab your copy from Amazon here!  I have interviewed Georgie for my podcast and she really does share a lot of free information that is super helpful, if you want to listen to the episode, head on over to my Podcast page.

DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Countdown Workout

If you are looking for a quick and effective DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workout, here is a little gem I posted on my YouTube channel recently using the very simple concept of Descending Ladders.

Starting with 10 Reps of the following exercises:
– Clean + Press
– MAX Lunge Left
– Bent over Row
– MAX Lunge Right
rest then repeat again for 8 reps, then 6, 4, 2
for a total of 30 reps

ENJOY!

The Oh Ball Giveaway

You see me working out barefoot all the time.  I am a huge proponent of actively using the feet during workouts to create tension and support throughout the body. Movement starts from the floor up and we need to know that our feet are able to move well and without pain.  So I often grab a tennis ball or lacrosse ball to roll under my feet to release tension and any aches or pains. Well then I got the chance to test  drive of a new product called The Oh Ball  and it had some really cool features.

You Can Freeze It.

Just pop it in the freezer for a few hours and you have a chill ball to roll your feet on.

Pinpoint Accuracy.

It comes with handles! Such a simple concept, but it makes the world of difference when really trying to target problem areas like plantar plantar fasciitis.

The Goldilock Effect.

It’s not too soft like a tennis ball, it’s not too small like a golf ball, it’s just the perfect size and firmness. It’s just right.

  1. Hi Amanda! Thanks for the heads up about Georgie’s new book. How different is it from the first one? Is there enough new info/insight to justify purchasing the new one if I own (and love!!) the old one? Thanks!

    1. Hi Ashley
It is very similar to the first edition, I am not sure you would gain much to be truthful. It does focus mainly on the 4 core habits and it is an easier version to use. So I would stick with the first version.
      thanks
      Amanda
